Thank you for your application for a copy of EViews Student Version Lite. You may download the Student Version program using one of the links provided below. You may choose between the Windows and Mac versions of the program.

For short term 'evaluation' or for long term use? If short term, then you can contact Stata corp (visit their website) for an 30 days evaluation version of Stata 14. But if you are looking for Stata12 specifically for long term use for free then. Download Stata 11 15.0 from our website for free. Our antivirus check shows that this download is clean. Stata 11 relates to Development Tools. The default filenames for the program's installer are Stata-64.exe, Stata.exe, StataMP.exe or StataSE.exe etc.

You will require your 24-character EViews serial number. If you have not yet requested a serial number you may do so on the request page.

Before running the installer, you should make certain that you have this number at hand since you must enter it as part of the installation procedure and as part of product activation/registration.

***The EViews Student Version Lite program will not run unless you provide a valid serial number***

Note that your license entitles you to use the Student Version program for two (2) years from the date of product activation/registration.

Temporary Student Licenses:

Minitab

Students can get access to a temporary free license of Minitab through the SoftwareShop

Login to the SoftwareShop using your UWM credentials
- Click the yellow Customer Login button
- Enter your ePantherID and Password and click Login
- On the next page click SoftwareShop
Find Minitab (MAC or WIN) among the list of software available and complete the purchasing process.
- In the Search Bar enter Minitab
- In the product list click the Buy Now button for Minitab – Temporary License
- In your shopping cart, update your items if needed, otherwise click Checkout
- In the checkout enter your name, address, and payment method
- Click Submit order
You will be sent an Electronic Software Download (ESD) link once you’ve completed your purchase.
Download the zip folder containing installation instructions and the license file needed to license the software.
- Follow the installation prompts on your device to install the software.

*This is a temporary license that will expire June 30, 2021.

Student Software

Student software may be installed on personal machines. In most cases, software cost is offered at no additional cost as it is subsidized by the University.

ArcGIS Online

UWM now offers students access to the ArcGIS Online services at no cost. With ArcGIS Online, you can use and create maps and scenes, access ready-to-use maps, layers and analytics, publish data as web layers, collaborate and share, access maps from any device, make maps with your Microsoft Excel data, and view status reports.

To access your ArcGIS Online account

UWM students can create an online account by:

1. Going to http://uwm.maps.arcgis.com/home
2. Click “Sign In” on the upper right corner.
3. Click “USING YOUR UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE ACCOUNT”
4. Login using your UWM credentials.

Premium ArcGIS Online Content
There are six premium content that are included in UW-Milwaukee’s ArcGIS Online subscription. The six premium contents are: Geocoding, Network Analysis, Spatial Analysis, GeoEnrichment, Demographics, and Elevation Analysis. However, it should be noted that these premium ArcGIS content consumes a large amount of credits but is quite reasonable when working with small data sets. We recommend that if you plan on doing heavy processing with more data (over 500) address to geocode, that you do so offline with ArcGIS Desktop and then upload your content to ArcGIS Online.

Esri Self-Paced E-Learning

Through our site license Esri offers free training courses. From Data Collection courses to creating 3D City Models they’re a variety of unlimited, organization-wide access to Esri’s large collection of self-paced e-Learning resources.

ArcGIS Desktop

UWM students can use ArcGIS Desktop for free through the Campus Computer Labs which are located around campus. Refer to this page for a map of where the Campus Computer Labs are located on campus.

Free One Year Trial of ArcGIS Desktop:

Through our site license Esri offers Students at Institutions with a Site License a free one year trial version of ArcGIS for Desktop. If you’re a UW-Milwaukee student and would like to obtain the free one year trial version of ArcGIS Desktop please first create a ArcGIS Online account above and then visit the Online SoftwareShop and make a $0 purchase for “ArcGIS Desktop (One year Student Trial Version)”. Once your order is completed you will receive an email within 1-2 business days from “software@uwm.edu” providing you with a download link containing the installation media and step-by-step instructions on how to install ArcGIS Desktop. Also, included in that email will be your authorization code that is needed to authenticate ArcGIS Desktop.

ArcGIS Pro

Users now have the ability to download the ArcGIS Pro installer directly from the new My settings page in their ArcGIS Online profile.

Instructions to download the ArcGIS Pro software:

Log into ArcGIS Online by clicking on “Sign In” in the upper right corner.
Click on the blue “University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee” button.
Login using your UWM credentials.
Click on your name in the upper right corner to view options and select “My settings”
Choose “Licenses” on the left side.
Scroll down and find the link to download next to ArcGIS Pro
Click on the blue “Download” button.
